Overview

The M8 Scott is the US self-propelled light support gun, built by the Light Vehicle Yard.

History

The M5 Stuart serves as the basis for the M8 Scott GMC, which mounts a 75mm pack howitzer in an open-topped turret as an infantry support vehicle. Additionally, like many US vehicles and tanks, it has a .50cal machinegun for light anti-air work.

Combat Performance

The lack of a machine-gun for anti-infantry work hampers the Scott's defenses against ground forces at close range. However, it has excellent armor compared to other vehicles - its only major threat from other vehicles is the Marder. Moreover, the powerful 75mm explosive is able to end groups of infantry and stationary vehicles in short order.
